Foscam Wireless IP Camera Unboxing and Review (HD)

**UPDATE** Check out my video on the New Foscam FI8910W. youtu.be Thanks for Subscribing! Foscam Unboxing and Review I’m using this FI8918W as my video baby monitor because the battery life on my iPhone and iPad are better than any video baby monitor sold at retail stores. Plus, I always have my iPhone with me so that’s just one less thing to carry around. A typical video baby monitor has a 3, maybe 4 inch screen. I love how I can keep an eye on my newborn child on my iPad’s 9.7 inch screen. Hi monzonite. Thanks for the compliment. I ordered the Foscam FI8910W directly from Foscam.us this past Friday. It’s advertised as the replacement for this FI8918W. I’ll post a video on it in the coming weeks.

Nice review. I am thinking about getting one of this. The thing you have at 2:10 is chinese traditional scissor-cut paper art. The art work is for decoration; you can stick it on a window if you like. The center “全家福” means “good luck to whole family”, the top “四季平安” means “be safe and peaceful for four seasons”.

Hi hitmans10z. Funny you should mention that. In next week’s video, I’ll be showing the Live Cams Pro app. Even though it’s not free, I agree that it’s far superior. Thanks for watching!

you need to open your cameras ports… I.E. – my Ip Cams are 10.0.1.21:81 and 10.0.1.21:82. Basically… my internals ip address for the cameras. i went into the camera settings and set your own DCHP. after you set-up that headover to your router and look for a port forwarding, port opening, or DMZ mode. From there you will type the cameras ip address (10.0.1.20) then it will ask on which port. i choose ports 81 and 82. 80 is the basic port feel free to choose almost any number. UDP and TCP

I have no problem viewing from any network (outside my home, cellular, out of the country). I use the Foscam as a baby monitor so I haven’t had a need to record the video. I view a live feed. I think people who want to use it as a security camera are more likely to record videos.

To view it outside the home, I opened a free account on DYNDNS.ORG. Foscam supports the following DDNS Services; DynDns.org and 3322.org

Hi, good job on your video. I had a question on the router setup. People have had problems with the A-Link and D-Link IP wireless cameras, because it conflicted with their routers. Did you have any problems, viewing your camera from outside of your home? Also, how do you record video for this camera. Is it saved to your hard drive?

  10. AwkwardHamster says:

Yes, you can since you have a very wide range to pan and tilt the camera. Thanks for watching.

Fantastic review, thank you…. Can you tell me if you can ceiling mount the camera so its upside down then pan it to the right way up?
